Applications are invited from prospective students desiring to have a one-year Weekend Master's in Environmental Sciences and Management consisting of three trimesters, which are offered by the Department of Environmental Sciences, Jahangirnagar University.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission in WMES Program

Additional Information

The WMES program seeks applicants with strong academic backgrounds, including a 4-year Bachelor’s or a 3-year Bachelor’s plus 1-year Master’s in relevant fields. Preference is given to those with education or experience in Environmental Science, Management, Geography, or Public Health. Applicants with a keen interest in sustainability, practical solutions, and innovation are highly encouraged.

  • Minimum 4 years Bachelor’s (Honors) Degree or 3 years Honours and 1-year Master’s degree in any relevant subject/discipline from any accredited institute.
  • BSc (Engineering) in any discipline from any recognized University
  • Academic degree or Professional experience relevant to environmental science/study/engineering/management/policy/compliance will get priority
  • N.B. Candidates with third Division/Class or CGPA below 2.50 at any level of their academic career are not eligible to apply

Admission Test Details
  • An admission test in MCQ method will be taken based on basics in environmental knowledge. The medium of admission test is English. This MCQ Test will take place in the department.
  • Candidates will have to attend an interview after the admission test on the same day.
  • Missing any of the exams (MCQ and Interview) will result in disqualification.
  • Final selection will be made based on performance in the admission test, previous academic records, and experiences.

  • 2. As for the VIVA, you will have to bring your Original Certificates (Academic/Professional) to show in the interview. If you don't have those, you will have to show alternate copies for verification.
